Quebec project comes on line

The 30 Vestas 1.8 MW turbines at the 54 MW Mont Miller wind project near Murdochville, Quebec are fully commissioned and providing electricity to Hydro-Québec under the terms of a 21-year purchase power agreement, says the wind farm’s owner.

The Northland Power Income Fund says the project, located in a wind-rich region where average daily wind speeds of over 9.5 meters per second were recorded last winter, is expected to produce enough electricity each year to supply up to 20,000 households.

Mont Miller is expected to contribute approximately 10% of the fund’s distributable cash in its first year of full-scale operation.
