Wind dominates SaskPower call for low-impact power

SaskPower has released a request for proposals for 32 MW of environmentally preferred power after receiving expressions of interest from 29 developers proposing 545 MW of projects.

Wind proposals, totalling 436 MW, dominate the list, which also includes biomass, biogas, flare gas, heat recover, low-impact hydro and solar projects. Developers have until October 25 to submlt their formal proposals.

“The program is doing what we hoped it would--bringing good projects forward and providing an opportunity for companies, organizations and entrepreneurs to make the case for their projects and proven technologies," says SaskPower CEO Pat Youzwa.
