Alberta wind farm celebrates opening

Calgary-based Vision Quest Windelectric officially opened its 68 MW Summerview Wind Farm May 26.

The project, which produces enough electricity to meet the needs of about 29,000 Alberta households, will receive $24.7 million from the federal government’s wind power production incentive (WPPI) program over the next 10 years.

"TransAlta's Vision Quest is to be congratulated for having the foresight and leadership to enter the new energy era," said Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan.
